RACE RESULTS
(Opens to a third party website)

Not too much to get excited about last week but things warm up this week as we travel to Ireland on Thursday for trials at Shelbourne Park for the forthcoming Night of the Stars on November 17th. Bombers Bullet, successful last week at Romford after a short break, will be aimed at the 600 yard championship race, our Derby finalist and dual Category 1 winner will no doubt face some stiff opposition but we are hoping for a big run from our kennel star. In the stayers races we are taking Baroness Bullet, Aayamza Breeze and Brigadier Bullet over in an effort to try and get them in either the 750 yds or 850 yds races. Next week I will look in depth at the races and the form.

This Friday the Romford Puppy Cup kicks off and we have two runners Shrewd Honcho and Adageo Joma that have now got plenty of experience of the track and distance so hopefully can get a good run in the competition. We have triumphed in this event three times before most notably with Glanmire Lad in recent years owned by Dick and Ann Barfoot who own Adageo Joma.

News lately that the Oaks looked in doubt due to be held at Swindon in a few weeks after some negative vibes coming from the track itself despite a sponsor being found for the classic is another damaging hit for the top class Greyhound racing. Word is though that both the sponsor (John Turner) and Mark Bird from the GBGB will not let this happen and it will take place if Swindon is not keen to take it on. I'm pretty sure most tracks would be happy to stage the event but it really looks like the fact we have lost our racing on Sky could well have a huge impact on some of the major events in our calendar, again I've said it a million times, without the top class racing none of the other graded racing will work because eventually breeders won't breed anymore. Another worrying thought is that Swindon itself looks like its days are numbered and everyone expects its closure to be announced shortly. Its new track that we have all been told for years will be built to replace the old stadium looks a figment of their imagination just like Reading, Milton Keynes and Bristol!

OPEN RACING

Just a few opens at Romford on Friday and Henlow on Sunday. Bombers Bullet scored at Romford with an all the way victory over 575m in 35.53 while on Sunday Silva Hill took another 428m in 25.93. Culchieland beat kennel mate Koroleva Queen by 7 lengths in a good 33.71 while Baroness Bullet scored at short odds in the 692m Stayers by 3 lengths in 42.80.

HENLOW REVIEW

On Monday we had wins for Roswell Martian in an A9 in 28.34 and Saffrons Honey in 28.42 while Gully Foyle completed a good day winning an A7 in 28.36.

glassmoss_queen_fd.JPGOn Tuesday morning Glassmoss Queen scored well in an A8 in a good 28.00 while we had no runners in the evening.

Cousin Dupree won well on Thursday by 9 lengths in 28.21 and Ninja Storm won an A5 after a long absence but was disqualified after blatantly fighting. We had a third winner with Tiffield Boy who won a D4 by 2 1/2 lengths in 16.90 but the rest of the meeting was abandoned due to the heavy conditions.

On Friday morning we had a couple of seconds with Energize Bobadee and Ribble Ghost who both ran well.

WHAT'S ON NEXT WEEK

We travel to Ireland on Thursday for trials for the forthcoming Night Of The Stars while on Friday the Romford Puppy Cup kicks off.

On Sunday opens include the semi finals of the Bedfordshire Oaks where Chubbys Caviar is our only runner.

WEBSITE RECOMMENDED BETS

We put up Calco Swift to take the Owners Bonus Series final at Henlow last Thursday but the meeting was abandoned before her race and was rescheduled for Monday and she duly obliged so hopefully supporters still backed her.

This week the Romford Puppy Cup starts on Friday and though she is a bit inconsistent out the traps Shrewd Honcho is definitely fast enough to have a squeak of taking the event and is worth an interest.

SHREWD HONCHO - 2 pts ew ante post - Romford Puppy Cup - Romford - starts Friday

ADVISED LAST WEEK

CALCO SWIFT - 2 pts ew - Henlow - Thursday (postponed til Monday) - Won 2/1
