Hello and welcome again to our website now in our third
week and a quick thank you again for all the fantastic feedback
we have received. It really has been very positive and over
the next few weeks we will be taking on board every thing
that has been said to further improve our site. This week
sees a new personal Question and Answer page to give you
an insight in to our staff, first up is our headlad Pete
Vernon's turn to be grilled and also our very own Linda Jones
has her new column up to read with all her latest news.
Could I take this opportunity to let everyone know that next Saturday the 21st
sees the W.G.S.O.A meeting at Walthamstow at which is very important that we
try and raise as much as we can for the retired dogs so your support would be
very welcome. Thank you to the owners that have sponsored races and anybody else
can help in the shape of buying raffle tickets or tickets are available for the
buffet in the Goodwood lounge priced at £40 - an excellent night that is
worth every penny these are available by contacting either Mick Faithfull-01277
655803 or Barry Clegg-0208 5293286.
OPEN RACING
Last Monday Blackmagic Guy came a gallant 2nd in the Keith
Johnson Easter Cup when defeated by Tarbrook Tico - one day
we will get this fellow over the line in first in a competition
final! On the supporting card we had mixed results with Go
Commando running out of his skin to win by 5 1/2 lgths in
a calc 28.22 - great to see 'Arri' come back from his serious
injury in such fine form. Another dog of ours in top form
is Ronnies Hare who won his 4th out of 5 races when taking
the sprint race. Directors Wish was unlucky in the puppy
race but looks a dog with a big future and Raging Jack was
also a bit unlucky but in the process has split a web badly
and will be out of action for a while.
Thursday's Open Race action from Walthamstow saw the impressive and in form Special
Deal win again when winning Division 2 of the Standard in a calc 28.79 and also
the new purchase of the 'Our Boy Sol Syndicate' s Roswell Bluesky racking another
win when taking the 640 in a calc 39.90. Although defeated, our pups Directors
Chair, Killer Keane and the new acquisition for the 'Champagne Club' Bubbly Magic
all ran well and can look forward to the forthcoming Ocean Trailers competition
with interest. Genesis Alix is another bitch in form and ran another great race
when just defeated by track and trip specialist Westminster Taj in the 835m.
Fear Armani also ran well when 2nd in the top division of the 475m behind the
Pall Mall winner Ballymac Charlie.
WALTHAMSTOW REVIEW
Monday's BAGS card produced a sole win for our owner Mick
Licence's Cream Munkie who would win by a lot further if
not running so wide! Tuesday we only had a few runners again
much to the disgust of our owners with many dogs waiting
for runs - take note Walthamstow - but it was great to see
raw puppy Bell Tempest win at the first time of asking when
coming from last to first in 29.58 - a hound with a big future!
Saturday's graded card was a successful one not just for
our 3 winners in the shape of Shelbourne Ryan, Shelbourne
Thessa, and Box Of Tricks but the immense promise shown by
some our new pups in the shape of Lockdale Duke, Marathon
Girl, Ardmayle Machine, Centaur Cappo all look to have bright
futures and it was great to see the return of our top hurdler
Ronnies Callum after a six months absence through injury.
Although needing the run he led to the 3rd bend finishing
eventually in 3rd but should come on for the run.
